A 36-year-old Toquerville resident is the suspect responsible for multiple burglaries and thefts in the area. Police searches have led to the recovery of more than $50,000 in stolen goods.

Among the stolen goods recovered was the Toquerville radio station equipment (97.3 FM). This radio station covers the Toquerville, La Verkin, and Hurricane area.

Jeff Jennings, owner of PCS Communications, is responsible for the operation of the local radio station, which he said should be back in operation in about a month.

“I was relieved when I heard the Hurricane police had recovered all of the stolen radio equipment,” he said. “The radio station plays classical music, but its main purpose is to provide information to the community in the event of an emergency.”

The suspect, Patrick Wilson, was initially arrested on February 24 and later booked into Purgatory Correctional Facility on several charges. Officers requested he be held without bail based on the ongoing investigation.

More details on this matter were covered in this St George News post.
